About

This is a page about the author (me), the site, and some F.A.Q.s!

That's a drawing of me, Jack! I was born on January 8th, 2006, in the United States. I've been a fan of The Beatles ever since I was a kid, and recently I've developed a greater interest in the Beatles "lore." My favorite is obviously John. I wanted to make a fansite dedicated to John Lennon because I find his life to be interesting and he seemed to be very complex yet abundantly creative.

F.A.Q.

Why John Lennon? Why not another Beatle?

Short answer: John is my favorite. Long answer: As I mentioned before, I find him to be utterly fascinating. I do not idolize him, nor do I think he was an amazing person. But I love his music, I love learning about his life (before the Beatles, with the Beatles, and particularly after the Beatles), I love getting lost in his writing and drawings, and I love his humor! When it comes to celebrities, I think you have to have a more nuanced perspective than characters from movies or television. They're real people, and there's things you will love about them, and things you'll hate. The fact that John was a very honest person about his flaws is what draws me in as well.

How did you get into John Lennon's music?

As stated before, I grew up as a Beatles fan. But I didn't really care for much of their lives before this year. I found John to be the most compelling to me. I then decided to listen to his solo work, which I had only known a couple songs from prior, and fell in love! The first "underrated" song I listened to was "You Are Here" from his 1973 album, Mind Games.

What are your favorite songs? Favorite albums?

My favorite songs are "You Are Here", "#9 Dream", "Imagine", "Nobody Loves You (When You're Down And Out)" and "(Just Like) Starting Over". My favorite albums are Mind Games and Walls and Bridges.

What do you think of Yoko Ono?

I don't hate her. I think a lot of people hate Yoko for sexist and racist reasons, and it's been that way since John and Yoko became JohnandYoko. It's unfair and prejudiced. People also tend to just make up things about her, which I also don't think is fair. I haven't really landed on a clear answer of whether I like her or not, but I can say I think she is overhated and not as bad as people make her out to be. Plus, I think it'd be a little hypocritical to hate Yoko but love John. They shared a lot of similar ideas and made a lot of work together.
